Hestia Has It On-Hand (Stuffing/Dressing)

Honoring the Greek goddess Hestia.

"Hestia Has It On-Hand" Stuffing/Dressing

1/4 c. butter
3 T. chopped onion
1 egg
1 1/2 c. Chicken broth or water or some of each
StoveTop Cornbread Stuffing mix (one box)
3 T. Dried cranberries (can add a bit more if you like)
1/4 t. celery seeds (or 1/4 c. chopped celery)

(Optional)  Use other ingredients such as: sesame seeds, dried apricots or prunes, sliced almonds or other nuts, diced apples, etc.
The goddess Hestia was always creative.

Add enough water to the chicken broth to get the amount of liquid called for in the instructions on the box of stuffing mix. Add butter, onion and celery (or seeds). Heat till butter is melted. Then let it cool a bit while you visit with your guests (Hestia is always hospitable!)

Pour dry ingredients into a microwave-safe bowl or a baking dish and stir to mix well.

Break the egg, add a teaspoon of water and stir the mixture with a fork to blend. Pour it over the dry ingredients and stir with a fork to mix.

Cook according to instructions on the box. (Microwave or in oven). Can easily double the recipe when serving to a crowd.

Hint from Hestia: Scrumptious with cranberry sauce and turkey or chicken gravy.
